6.6/10

This hotel has a fantastic location that feels tranquil once you're inside, and the junior suite I stayed in was spacious and well-lit. However, the experience was marred by some maintenance issues and a few discomforts, like a noisy and stark room, and an awkward bathtub/shower setup. The staff outside of the front desk were very attentive, but overall, the experience felt overpriced for what was offered.

Rooms

The junior suite was large and bright, but the overall ambiance was quite stark and noisy with little decoration.
Service

Most of the staff were excellent and attentive, though the front desk service was lacking.

I didn't eat at the restaurant, but it seemed underutilized and the breakfast had a poor quality-to-price ratio.

The pool area is lovely but could benefit from more attention to maintenance, as the water appeared clouded.

7.2/10

The Hotel de La Parra has a wonderful colonial charm and is located just moments away from the vibrant zocalo. I enjoyed the beautiful courtyard and pool area, which provided a relaxing atmosphere. However, our stay was marred by significant accommodation issues, as we faced a last-minute room switch to an active construction site, which was unacceptable. Overall, while the location and aesthetics were lovely, the lack of proper accommodation management severely impacted our experience.

Rooms
6.0
Our rooms were a bit dark and opened into a covered corridor, which made them feel less private and lacking in natural light. They could really use some updating.
Service
5.0
The staff was pleasant and tried to be helpful, but the service fell short during our crisis with the room relocation. It felt like they could have handled our situation better.
Location
10.0
The hotel is ideally situated, just a half block from the zocalo, making it very convenient for exploring the markets and other attractions in the area.
Dining
7.0
We enjoyed the breakfast in the charming courtyard, but given the small staff, service could be a bit slow at times.
Facilities

I had a lovely stay at this boutique hotel, with its immaculate and well-decorated property just steps away from the Zocalo. The rooms are comfortable and the pool area is a peaceful oasis. However, some service aspects could be improved, particularly the dining experience was slightly inconsistent with slow service and missed items. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxing getaway.

Rooms

Breakfast was delicious, but service was a bit slow, and it wasn't a buffet as some may expect.

9.2/10

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Boutique de La Parra, which boasts a perfect location just a short walk from the Zocalo and local markets. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, making for a relaxing stay. The staff truly made a difference with their thoughtful service, particularly Rosa, who went above and beyond. On the downside, my travel plans were disrupted, requiring us to switch rooms, which could have been handled better. Overall, this charming boutique hotel provided great value for money during my visit to Oaxaca.

7.8/10

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The location right by the Zocalo is fantastic, making it easy to explore Oaxaca. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the service didn't always meet expectations. The noise from the surroundings was bothersome at times, and the room quality varied significantly. Overall, it has its charms, but there were definitely areas that need improvement.

Rooms
7.0
We booked a Junior Suite but were upgraded to a Master Suite, which was spacious enough for my family of three. The noise-proof glass windows were a lifesaver since the hotel is right on the main square. However, in another stay, I found the bed quite hard and the sheets rough, which made for an uncomfortable night.
Service
8.0
The staff were very helpful and friendly, assisting with tours and transfers. However, communication was tricky at times since not everyone spoke English fluently, although they tried their best with Google Translate.
Location
9.0
The hotel is in a prime location, just steps away from the lively Zocalo, making it incredibly convenient for walking around Oaxaca Centro. However, the surrounding noise can be distracting, especially for light sleepers.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast was decent, served in a lovely courtyard, but sometimes it came out lukewarm, which was disappointing. There could be more variety, especially for those with specific dietary preferences.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel features a beautiful garden and a pool area that feels relaxing amidst the city bustle. However, there could be improvements in the amenities provided in the room, such as higher quality toiletries.
